In the period November 14-21, in the Romanian city of Targu Mures, located in the region of Transylvania and having a population of over one hundred thousand, the IBSA Goalball European Championship (Group “C”) was held.
8 countries participated in the championship: Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Serbia, Sweden.
Subgroup “A” - Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Serbia.
Subgroup “B” - Bulgaria, France, Romania, Sweden.
The Bulgarian delegation was composed of: Alexi Dinkov - Alcapone, Veselin Kushnerenkov - Vespi, Ivaylo Vatov - Yovko, Ivan Yanev - Darko, Svetlomir Selev - Svetlio-Barzia (driver and assistant), Stanislav Yordanov - Slavun, Teodor Stoyanov - Toshko (trainer), Hakan Osman - Haksy.
Ranking in subgroup “A”: Denmark, Serbia, Netherlands, Italy.
Ranking in subgroup “B”: Sweden, France, Bulgaria, Romania.
The final ranking is:

After a 12-year break, Bulgaria triumphed again with the bronze and went to the upper group.
Bulgaria’s participation in the European Goalball Championship was made possible thanks to the subsidy provided by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to the Federation “Sports for People with Visual Impairments” and the support of the Union of the Blind in Bulgaria.
