Bulgarian Event for year 2026

Bulgaria is once again hosting the World Championship for the Blind.

The candidacy for hosting the “Bulgarian Sports Federation for the Visually Impaired" (BSFVI) was evaluated and approved by both the “Ministry of Youth and Sports" and the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA).

The World Chess Championship will be held in the period July 20-31, 2026 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

We rely on the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the business, the media and all volunteers to support our effort in organizing and providing the event at a very high level.
